The 2025 edition of the Sud Innovation Summit is scheduled for 16 and 17 October 2025 with the theme ‘AI for Future’. Now in its third edition, the event consolidates its role as a key moment for the innovation ecosystem in Southern Italy, which is increasingly becoming a laboratory for technological and social transformation.
For two days, the city of Messina will welcome over one hundred speakers, start-ups, businesses, universities and institutions in an open and multidisciplinary discussion on the concrete impact of artificial intelligence in key sectors of the economy and society.
The programme will include keynotes, round tables, practical workshops, a tech expo, the HR village and a space dedicated to higher education. Partners include major players in innovation such as Banca Generali, Google Cloud, Intesa Sanpaolo, Mastercard, Microsoft, PwC Italy, Sky, TIM and Uber. Startupbusiness is also a media partner for the event.
Sun Innovation Summit was created by entrepreneur Roberto Ruggeri (pictured), who was motivated partly by the concept of giving back and partly by the urgent need to accelerate the role of Southern Italy as a driver of innovation., a South capable of building the future, of establishing solid foundations on which to grow entrepreneurship and innovation, a South that finds its meeting point in Messina, which becomes the gathering point and destination of a journey that unfolds throughout the year in all the regions of southern Italy, with stops in major cities to identify, select and support the most innovative start-ups, which find in Messina a fundamental opportunity to make themselves known.
The organisation’s skill lies in bringing together large companies and leading figures in innovation who share their knowledge and insights throughout the programme, both in plenary sessions and in vertical workshops, their knowledge and visions with the most innovative start-ups and institutions that complete the event’s framework, with the active participation of the University, the municipal administration, the national government and even the entities involved in the ambitious project that coincides with the construction of the bridge over the Strait.
Tech companies ranging from Microsoft to Nvidia, AirBnb to WeRoad, Enel to Tim, Banca Generali to Credit Agricole, P101 to CDP Venture Capital, Intesa Sanpaolo to Pwc, Odoo to Alibaba, Google Cloud to IBM, Moneyfarm to Mastercard, from Sky to Macnil, are just some of the names that will enliven the two-day plenary programme, which will be accompanied by a rich series of workshops on various topics related to innovation, all of the highest calibre.
The event is being held once again thanks to the efforts of individuals and organisations operating on a non-profit basis who wish to contribute to strengthening southern Italy, a region with significant innovative potential that is increasingly aware of its role both in the country’s economy and in an international vision focused on the Mediterranean.
All information and details on how to participate, which is free of charge, can be found on the Sud Innovation Summit website.
