Bricks.sh, a start-up that develops native tools for artificial intelligence, announces that it has raised €1.6 million in a pre-seed round led by Primo Capital. The round was oversubscribed and also saw the participation of Octopus First Cheque Fund, Eden Ventures, Vesper Holding and Vento, as well as a number of business angels including Gianluca Cocco (Qomodo), Filippo Conforti (Commerce Layer) and the entire founding team of Smartness. Bricks.sh also announces the launch of its public beta version.
Bricks.sh embodies a new approach to software tool creation. The platform offers developers the ability to automatically generate an administration panel by simply connecting their APIs and databases to Bricks.sh’s artificial intelligence.
With three clicks, Bricks.sh enables developers to generate a ready-to-use admin panel for the entire team, both technical and non-technical members. All users can then easily use and interact with the admin panel.
Bricks.sh automatically keeps the admin panel synchronised with the user’s API and database. Whenever Bricks.sh detects a change, such as a new field, an updated table, or a modified endpoint, the platform updates the admin panel frontend to match. This saves developers time twice over: by automatically creating internal tools and by keeping up with ongoing maintenance.
Dario Di Carlo, CEO and co-founder of Bricks.sh, states in a note: “An incredible amount of engineering time is wasted on internal software tools within organisations. In fact, creating platforms to refund orders, update subscription plans, and so on generally takes up a third of every developer’s time. When creating them, the previous generation of tool developers made a compromise for both the business and technical teams: if you want a tailor-made solution, it takes months of development. If you want a quick solution, you sacrifice customisation. The result? Tools that slow down technical teams and simply don’t work for business teams. We created Bricks.sh to end this trade-off once and for all. The result: speed where developers need it, customisation where operators demand it, and a way out of the long and arduous creation of internal tools that don’t generate revenue but consume time. The real, positive impact we’re seeing is on users’ bottom lines.
The market has responded positively. Bricks.sh has registered over 500 users, 99.7% of whom are outside Italy, the company’s country of origin, with 35% of users in the United States. A global company from day one, and thanks to the absence of transition costs between markets, Bricks.sh intends to maintain a global focus as it grows.
Bricks.sh will use the funds to continue building the team and deliver a product of the highest possible standard.
Niccolò Sanarico, general partner at Primo Capital, says: “Having spent years as a software engineer and then as a CTO, I experienced first-hand the frustration of building internal tools. What immediately attracted us to Bricks.sh was the elegance of their idea and their clever use of generative AI. But what really convinced us to lead this round was the team itself. Dario and Giuliano embody a rare combination of technical expertise, energy, dedication and a desire to revolutionise the way developers work, with a global vision from day one. This is the kind of team we like to support at Primo Capital.”
The recent integration of Bricks.sh with Supabase illustrates how the developer market has embraced the platform. Bricks.sh’s one-click admin panel, developed specifically for Supabase users, has led to a threefold increase in sign-ups within a month, as well as strong ongoing traction and consistently positive feedback.
Giuliano Torregrossa, co-founder (pictured with Di Carlo), adds: “As developers, we have observed that, regardless of the sector or use case, internal tools have the same structure: tables to list users, orders, transactions, and forms to act on that data. But this was just an observation, so we put it to the test. We mapped out the market and formulated our thesis: developers need speed and security, while business teams need tailored tools that improve their workflows. Compared to in-house development, Bricks.sh can provide an admin panel that is a thousand times faster and offers a ten times better user experience.
