The Juventus football club has launched an open innovation programme called Juventus Forward: “Juventus has always been at the forefront of innovation, and this initiative is clear proof of that. We must consider innovation a strategic issue for the coming years,” said Damien Comolli, CEO of Juventus, in a statement.
The initiative represents the beating heart of Juventus’ open innovation, a strategic bridge between the club, start-ups, partners, talents and a community working on sport, technology and applied innovation. Juventus Forward was born from the awareness that innovation is no longer an option, but the only way to build lasting and sustainable value in modern football.
At the launch of the programme, two partners were presented who are set to strengthen the Club’s innovation process: CDP Venture Capital will relocate its Accelerator dedicated to the Sportech and Wellness vertical from Rome to Turin, making the Allianz Stadium a new national hub for sports start-ups and business acceleration., consolidating a collaboration that over the years has contributed significantly to the growth of the club’s innovation capabilities, supporting the implementation of the first PoCs and pilot projects between Juventus and start-ups and representing a privileged observatory on the predominantly national market, and The Players Fund will support Juventus as a strategic partner of the Innovation team, bringing an international perspective, benchmarks and expertise through global scouting activities., will help identify priority needs, enable research and development collaborations, and further strengthen the club’s existing innovation capabilities, supporting Juventus in becoming venture-ready and consolidating innovation as a distinctive competitive factor.
Forward Squad is a team of start-ups, selected through a scouting process, which will collaborate with Juventus this season to experiment, validate, develop and promote new projects. The Forward Squad will be the engine of innovation, with a three-tier structure (player, champion, ally) designed to generate mutual value between the club and its partners. Juventus Forward aims to respond to the changes and new challenges facing international football: a structured platform that transforms vision into real impact, strengthening the club’s reputation and generating measurable value through strategic collaborations and innovative projects.
