Beautycians and the challenge of longevity and wellbeing

The journey continues among the start-ups emerging in Liguria as part of the collaboration between Startupbusiness and the Genoa Start-up Foundation.

Davide Antichi is an entrepreneur with a multidisciplinary scientific background: pharmacist, cosmetic chemist, beautician and researcher in the field of wellness and psycho-neuro-endocrine-immunology (PNEI). “I have been working in the professional beauty and wellness sector for forty years, first as a practitioner and trainer, then as a business model builder. Over the years, I have founded brands, created professional communities and worked on international projects. Beautycians was born from the combination of scientific expertise, entrepreneurial vision and strong roots in the real market.”

Beautycians is an innovative start-up and welltech company operating in the longevity wellness sector. “We have developed an integrated model that combines a diagnostic platform with artificial intelligence, proprietary devices, training, cosmeceutical and nutraceutical products, and a scalable longevity wellness centre format. Our goal is to become the sole point of contact for advanced wellness, avoiding both medicalisation and pseudoscience. We operate in a huge market that is growing rapidly but is still fragmented and not very technological.”

The idea came from the bottom up, not from a theoretical laboratory. “In 2021, together with Piera Bertola and Cristina Davanzo, highly experienced beauticians and trainers, we created the Beautycians Community, which now has over six thousand members. Listening daily to the needs of the market, a clear critical issue emerged: the lack of a structured model of longevity wellness, scientific yet accessible, capable of integrating diagnosis, treatment and support over time. Beautycians, the company, was founded in 2022 as a natural evolution of this community, already active and validated by the market.

“In the short term, we aim to consolidate the model, which is already sustainable today: in 2025, we reached break-even with positive EBITDA. From 2026, the first longevity wellness pilot centres will be launched to definitively validate the format: we are opening five centres in Milan, Rome, Piacenza, Lodi and Verona. Between 2027 and 2030, we expect structured growth of the network and the start of internationalisation. Beautycians represents a great investment opportunity today because it combines proprietary assets, high margins, strong market traction and a team with real experience in the sector. Longevity wellness is not a fad: it is a structural transformation, and we are building the infrastructure to capture it.” (pictured: the startup’s staff)
