€1 million seed round for cleantech startup VisioNing

VisioNing, a deeptech startup spinoff from the University of Milan, has announced that it has closed a €1 million seed round with the support of Farming Future, the National Technology Transfer Hub for Agrifood Tech promoted by CDP Venture Capital in collaboration with ToSeed & Partners. The MiSE co-investment fund is also participating in the operation through resources dedicated to female entrepreneurship, established by CDP Venture Capital. At the same time as the capital increase, Simone Guzzetti, already a founder with the exit of Bloovery behind him, has been appointed CEO, with the aim of guiding VisioNing towards go-to-market and industrial expansion.

The capital increase will enable the start-up to accelerate the development of its proprietary technology for the treatment and recovery of agro-industrial wastewater. The plan includes the engineering and commercial launch of the first prototype, already operational in an agricultural brewery, and the activation of three additional pilot projects in various strategic agro-industrial supply chains by 2025.

“This investment represents a strong sign of confidence in our vision and in the potential impact of our technology,” said Ermelinda Falletta, co-founder and CTO of VisioNing (pictured with the CEO), in a statement. “Our system enables efficient purification and the recovery of valuable nutrients, facilitating circular economy models, thanks to the work of a close-knit team that combines scientific and engineering expertise.”

Claudia Pingue, head of CDP Venture Capital’s Technology Transfer Fund, adds: “VisioNing combines academic research excellence with concrete industrial application potential, in line with our mission to promote the most promising technologies in Italy.”
