Znext, Zanichelli Editore’s entrepreneurial project dedicated to the creation and development of high-potential technology companies in the edtech, future of work, lifelong learning and wellbeing sectors, which we wrote about when it began operations, announces the launch of Ekory as the first start-up to join its venture building programme.
Ekory is an artificial intelligence-based knowledge intelligence platform that helps companies effectively organise, activate and transmit their internal knowledge, simplifying training processes and making information truly accessible to all employees.
Internal information and expertise tend to be scattered across different documents, manuals, videos, policies, presentations and archives. Ekory brings all these materials together and transforms them into active learning experiences. The platform analyses, connects and returns information in the form of tailor-made answers, explanations, pathways and educational content. Employees can interact with AI tutors trained in internal knowledge and receive immediate clarifications, contextual insights and personalised training programmes that adapt to their needs over time.
This experience is made possible by an ecosystem of specialised AI agents, which work in a coordinated manner to interpret content, contextualise it and offer truly intelligent support at every stage of learning. Corporate knowledge thus becomes increasingly dynamic, searchable and alive.
“People’s knowledge and expertise are a company’s true strategic asset, but they are often lost, locked away in the silos of different departments. With our platform, all this comes to life, becomes easily navigable and is continuously updated,” says Alfredo Palena, co-founder and CTO of Ekory, in a statement. (pictured with fellow co-founder Lorenzo Di Cataldo on the left) – The name Ekory stems from this vision: eko are AI agents that amplify and return internal knowledge, while the reference to memory expresses the platform’s ability to store and bring it to life, transforming it into active learning that accompanies each user on a personalised growth path.
Znext will support Ekory as co-founder, with an initial pre-seed investment of €150,000 accompanied by ongoing operational support, access to specialist expertise and the Group’s network.
“Ekory perfectly embodies the vision with which we created Znext: to build high-tech companies capable of generating concrete impact with a long-term perspective,” says Elena Lavezzi, CEO of Znext. . “We chose to invest in it because it offers an immediate and scalable response to a challenge that affects companies in every sector: transforming internal knowledge into a real competitive advantage and freeing up resources from repetitive tasks, allowing them to devote themselves to more strategic activities and moments of discussion, exchange and collaboration. Its technological infrastructure, which is solid and adaptable to different contexts, reflects our ambition to create realities capable of unlocking human potential. In short, Ekory fully represents the ideal starting point for our venture building programme and for the type of innovation we want to build.”
The launch of Ekory represents the first step in Znext’s business plan, which envisages a total investment of €60 million in start-ups and strategic acquisitions over the coming years, with the aim of supporting initiatives capable of improving the way people learn, work and take care of their well-being.
