Strategic cooperation framework agreement between Elt and D-Orbit

The Elt Group, a company operating in the field of electronic warfare (EW) systems, and the space tech scale-up D-Orbit have announced that they have signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement aimed at promoting long-term collaboration in the space sector.

The agreement was formalised within the context of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives, with the aim of creating a stable and consistent basis for joint activities in line with the country’s priorities in terms of technological development, industrial growth and localisation.

The Saudi Ministry of Investment sponsored the agreement signing ceremony (pictured), emphasising the importance of the initiative with the presence of a representative of the minister.

The agreement outlines a shared commitment to jointly evaluate and pursue commercial development opportunities, while strengthening industrial and technological cooperation in key areas, including RF (radio frequency) spectrum monitoring, extensive computing capabilities, satellite platforms and in-orbit services, with specific reference to Saudi Arabia. Leveraging their complementary expertise and resources, the two parties aim to contribute to the development of an advanced and resilient space ecosystem capable of supporting both institutional and commercial needs.

Enzo Benigni, President and CEO of Elt Group, commented in a statement: “For Elt Group, space represents the new frontier of information superiority supported by RF monitoring, surveillance and intelligence systems. The collaboration with D-Orbit allows us to accelerate this journey by integrating our advanced capabilities in electromagnetic spectrum analysis and cyber intelligence with next-generation orbital platforms. Together, we can contribute to building a space infrastructure that not only meets the objectives of Vision 2030, but also strengthens Saudi Arabia’s ability to generate, protect and enhance strategic data from space. This agreement confirms Elt Group’s commitment to being a key technology partner in orbital missions and services.”

Luca Rossettini, CEO of D-Orbit Group, says: “Space is becoming an increasingly strategic domain for national security, resilience and technological sovereignty. This cooperation framework with Elt Group brings together complementary capabilities in the areas of advanced sensing and spectrum awareness, cyber and orbital infrastructure, enabling the development of space services designed to support secure communications, situational awareness and data integrity. Working together and in line with Saudi Arabia’s national priorities, we aim to contribute to the development of reliable, locally rooted capabilities that strengthen long-term operational readiness, while supporting the growth of a competitive national space industry.”

A central component of the agreement is the exploration of industrial cooperation models consistent with Saudi national localisation policies. These include initiatives related to local production, the transfer of strategic technologies and capabilities, and the development of national industrial and technological expertise. In this context, Elt Group and DOrbit, also through their respective Saudi entities, Elettronica for Industry LLC and D-Orbit Saudi LLC, are strategically positioned to support future space-related activities in Saudi Arabia, in line with national industrial development objectives and with the aim of meeting both domestic needs and potential export markets.

The foreign direct investments envisaged under this cooperation, which include production capacity and the sharing of strategic know-how, aim to contribute to and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s competitiveness in the space sector.
