Saporeeto, is the startup launched by Axxelera and Tommaso Pelladoni, which aims to revolutionize the ready-to-eat meals market<\/strong> by focusing on research and development, new consumer food trends (from plant-based to high protein) and product quality. In fact, 22 million Italians consume vegetable protein products, with consumption growth of +2.8 percent over 2022, according to findings by Astraricerche and Unione Italiana Food.<\/p>\n

Saporeeto enters a segment, the European ready-to-eat segment, which Statista says will reach 100 billion euros by 2027, as demand for conventional foods is set to decline in the face of increasingly conscious consumers who are closer to “free-from.” The startup works to create a new category of ready-to-eat meals against a backdrop of trends that are increasingly focused on health, reduced environmental impact and savings.<\/p>\n

“Research and product development are the values that really differentiate us: we have already developed two patents and are able to bring new recipes to market in less than eight weeks on average,” Tommaso Pelladoni, general manager of Saporeeto, explained in a note<\/strong>. Aware of the profound change the industry is undergoing, we are investing in something that we believe can truly transform the R2E food landscape, with a concrete commitment to our planet, in the face of market conditions that dictate a new way of understanding consumption.”<\/p>\n

There are two product lines with which Saporeeto is going to the consumer market, one gourmet and one plant-based, since in Italy 64 percent of the population consumes plant-based foods for health and wellness purposes and 42 percent prefer meals with a reduced impact on the planet (source: Unione Italiana Food, 2022).<\/p>\n

Four pillars underpin the entire project, which aims to surpass one million ready-to-eat meals produced by 2027: the continuous research and development of recipes within the Food Lab; convenience, which makes the product ideal for recurring purchases; uniqueness of the brand and consumption experience; and reduced environmental impact of production.<\/p>\n

One of the main drivers of Saporeeto’s production is the flexitarian trend, a more balanced diet that favors a plant-based dietary pattern but does not totally exclude animal protein:<\/strong> flexitarians, in fact, are driving the growth of the plant-based market.<\/p>\n

Currently, Saporeeto is present in several large-scale retail chains and also supplies its products to the ho.re.ca. sector. The goal, by 2025, is to also land on e-commerce and selected Italian premium marketplaces.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
