Apogeo Space, a company engaged in the construction of the first Italian private constellation of satellites for the provision of a telecommunications service for Internet of Things (IoT) devices, announces the agreement with the Korean company Innospace for the acquisition of multiple launches, starting from the second half of 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The agreement provides for the management, in the period 2025-2027, of 3 launches and releases in low Earth orbit (LEO \u2013 Low Earth Orbit) of Apogeo Space’s picosatellites that will populate the first Italian private constellation dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT).<\/p>\n

The agreement between Apogeo Space and Innospace marks an important step towards the Italian future of a global connectivity service, enabling constant and reliable coverage for IoT worldwide.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thanks to this agreement, which is in addition to the one with the Italian D-Orbit<\/a>, Apogeo Space increasingly ensures qualified access to space, pursuing its motto “IoT everywhere, for everyone” hand in hand with a structured business plan for positioning in the first orbits necessary to ensure global and continuous connectivity.<\/p>\n

Guido Parissenti, CEO and co-founder of Apogeo Space says in a statement: “We are thrilled to partner with such an innovative company as Innospace.<\/strong> This agreement is of great importance as it guarantees us the expansion of the number of partners that will allow us to complete our constellation of picosatellites for IoT by 2027.”<\/p>\n

“We are happy to announce this multi-launch agreement with Apogeo Space and are very proud to undertake the three space missions for the release of the IoT picosatellites constellation. Innospace supports Apogeo Space’s vision as an innovative space partner. Our small satellite launch vehicle, Hanbit, will provide reliable launches to aid the construction of the constellation due to its precision deployment capability in orbits,” adds Soojong Kim, CEO and founder of Innospace.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Constellation of 96 satellites<\/h2>\n

Apogeo Space’s plans envisage, when fully operational, 3 to 4 launches per year, each consisting of 9 satellites measuring 10x10x3 cm, for the construction of its own constellation that will begin to be operational from the end of 2024 and will be completed by 2027 when there will be 96 active pico-satellites in orbit.<\/p>\n

The The launch of the first 9 test satellites took place in November 2023, with SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket and released by the OTV (Orbital Transfer Vehicle) of the Italian D-Orbit. The next launch is scheduled for July 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Apogeo Space project will strengthen Italy’s role in telecommunications constellations, especially composed of picosatellites\/nanosatellites, capable of offering a full range of advanced services.<\/p>\n

These services include data collection for a variety of applications, from agritech to integrated logistics, from forest and glacier monitoring to oil and gas, from large hydrogeological basins to network and infrastructure monitoring.<\/p>\n

Precisely with regard to these sectors, the April 2024 Insight Report of the World Economic Forum, in partnership with McKinsey & Company, argues that data from IoT sensors, even located in remote areas, will bring a significant benefit to advanced services for the supply chain, energy, agriculture, mining and aerospace industries, generating an additional revenue of three billion dollars by 2035.<\/p>\n

The German research institute Statista estimates that by 2030 there will be around 30 billion connected IoT devices worldwide, with a steady average annual growth of two billion between now and then.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
