{"id":129820,"date":"2024-01-10T09:17:12","date_gmt":"2024-01-10T08:17:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/prod1-sb.designtech.space\/newcleo-signs-agreement-with-nextchem-and-tecnimont\/129820\/"},"modified":"2024-01-10T09:17:12","modified_gmt":"2024-01-10T08:17:12","slug":"newcleo-signs-agreement-with-nextchem-and-tecnimont","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.startupbusiness.it\/en\/newcleo-signs-agreement-with-nextchem-and-tecnimont\/129820\/","title":{"rendered":"Newcleo signs agreement with NextChem and Tecnimont"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"IT\">New<\/span><span lang=\"IT\">cleo<\/span><span lang=\"IT\">, the British-Italian scaleup engaged in the construction of modular and innovative fourth-generation small nuclear fission reactors and in the production of MOX fuel, <strong>announces that it has signed an agreement with NextChem and Tecnimont, subsidiaries of MAIRE, to use its reactors to decarbonize the chemical industry, including hydrogen production.<\/strong><\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"x_xxmsonormal\"><span lang=\"IT\">The agreement, which is the basis of a new model of &#8220;e-factory for carbon-neutral chemistry&#8221; launched by NextChem Tech, provides for the development, exclusively, of a conceptual study on the sustainable production of zero-emission hydrogen and chemicals, combining Newcleo&#8217;s innovative nuclear technology and MAIRE&#8217;s chemical technologies and expertise.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Zero-impact chemistry<\/h2>\n<p> <span lang=\"IT\">This agreement will enable the production of electrolytic hydrogen and sustainable chemicals, including zero-emission ammonia, methanol, e-fuels and derivatives, in line with the European Union&#8217;s decision to include innovative nuclear technologies, such as Newcleo&#8217;s, in the EU taxonomy of environmentally sustainable economic activities.<\/span>  <span lang=\"IT\">In addition, Tecnimont will provide consulting services for Newcleo&#8217;s innovative power plant, based on Newcleo&#8217;s SMR LFR200 technology, applying Tecnimont&#8217;s modularization approach to optimize construction and planning methodology, reducing production and construction time and costs. This will boost Newcleo&#8217;s vision of creating a fully modular, affordable and easy-to-install plant.<\/span>  <b><br \/>\n  <span lang=\"IT\">Stefano Buono, president and CEO of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.startupbusiness.it\/newcleo-compra-rutschi-group\/125702\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Newcleo<\/a><\/span><br \/>\n<\/b><span lang=\"IT\">, <strong>commented in a note: <\/strong><\/span> <strong><span lang=\"IT\">&#8220;Small or Advanced Modular Reactors (SMRs\/AMRs) have the potential not only to produce electricity, but also to have industrial applications.  <\/span><span lang=\"IT\">However, a key prerequisite for providing safe, carbon-free energy for industrial uses is the elimination of nuclear accidents. The new reactor<\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"IT\"><strong>cleo is &#8220;safe by design&#8221;, thanks to the laws of physics<\/strong>, and this allows our Lead Fast Reactors (LFRs) to remain in a safe state even in the unlikely event of serious accidents or sabotage scenarios.  <\/span><span lang=\"IT\">Due to the favorable physical properties of lead, this level of safety is achievable with a reduction in costs compared to Generation III SMRs, paving the way for a competitive &#8220;e-factory for zero-carbon chemistry&#8221; as envisaged by MAIRE. <\/span><span lang=\"IT\">We are excited Contesti e visioni per l\u2019impresa\u2019 , l\u2019edizione italiana di \u2018La startup digitale, guida pratica step by step\u2019 e ha scritto la prefazione all\u2019edizione italiana de \u2018La quarta era\u2019 di Byron Reese, ed \u00e8 co-autore di \u2018Cosa e Dove: strategie digitali di ricerca del lavoro\u2019, tutti editi da FrancoAngeli.
