Stema, the platform that supports engineers in developing their professional careers, announces the closing of a EUR 1.6 million funding round with United Ventures. <\/strong>The investment was made through the UV III fund and the parallel UV III Lombardia fund, participated by Lombardia Venture, an initiative that supports the growth and development of start-ups in Lombardy with strong potential for technological innovation. Eden Ventures, Club degli Investitori, and the international fund Octopus Ventures also participated in the round.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n

Stema is developing a BtoB solution to automate the search and selection of STEM profiles. The investment comes at a time of strong growth for the company, which in just a few months has built a community of qualified engineers in Italy, with more than 300 new users every day, and has signed ongoing contracts with 15 of Italy’s most important companies hiring technical profiles. The new funds will be used to further develop the technology platform, structure the team, consolidate the positioning and presence in Italy, and prepare the launch of operations in Germany. <\/p>\n\n

The demand for STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) profiles is part of a strategic context of global competitiveness of economies. The current evolution of industrial contexts requires an unprecedented number of STEM talents, giving rise not only to demand for new profiles, but above all to the need to better allocate the profiles already present in the labour market. The geographical concentration of profiles and often obsolete recruiting tools make it difficult for companies to attract and hire the engineers they need. <\/p>\n\n

Companies need a new infrastructure to connect talent and opportunities. By shifting the conversation to career paths instead of individual job opportunities, Stema is able to establish a trusting relationship with talent, and is creating a large community of STEM profiles around it. AI allows engineers to find their way around and identify companies where they can contribute. Similarly, companies find the most suitable engineers for each position, ensuring a better match between talent and role. This is a key condition for fostering creativity and innovation in the workplace. <\/p>\n\n

Stema’s founding team possesses complementary skills and solid experience in various sectors: they include Vito Lomele, an entrepreneur with a background in creating innovative companies such as Fiscozen and Jobrapido; CEO Davide Bodini, with a background in human resources; and CTO Matteo Gambera, an automation engineer (pictured).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Until now, HR has had to rely on a multitude of undifferentiated platforms, unable to effectively redesign the interaction between talent and the company. With Stema, we will guide the careers of Europe’s 10 million engineers, making the continent’s business fabric more competitive internationally,’ Davide Bodini said in a note.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
