The second edition of the Design Momentum acceleration programme, realised by Designtech (publisher of Startupbusiness) and supported by the Lombardy Region, is kicking off. Starting at 10 a.m. on 19 February 2025, it is possible to apply here to become part of the programme<\/a>, which is aimed at startups, scaleups and SMEs operating in the design and fashion sectors.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n

The launch of this second edition is the result of the success of the first edition of the programme in which eight companies participated with as many projects. The programme, which will end on 21 March 2025, has developed with training sessions and the practical realisation of the project that has leveraged the infrastructure of CoFactory, Designtech’s space in Milan’s Certosa area, which houses additive manufacturing machines such as industrial-grade 3D printers, hybrid additive manufacturing and milling systems, a flexible machining centre for the processing of plastics and advanced materials, light metals and wood derivatives (respectively, Kreator Ares and Evotech 400 from partner Cms), 3D printers for super polymers and composites (ARGO 500 and Plus PRO from partner Roboze), and the robot with linear axis motion capability (IRB 6700 from partner ABB) for assembly and printing of unconventional materials and formats. <\/p>\n\n

The acceleration programme is specifically designed for start-ups, scaleups and SMEs wishing to elevate their market positioning by making design the key to business success, with a focus on the launch of innovative and sustainable products by design, a path created within the ERDF regional programme ERDF 2021-2027.<\/p>\n\n

The companies that are participating in the first edition of the Design Momentum<\/a> programme are: <\/p>\n\n

Aura System, <\/strong>creator of the NBS (Nature Based Solution) called “modular forest”, a bio-filtering wall that purifies and naturalises the air in the room, helping to maintain a bioclimate that reduces the use of air conditioners and contributes to improved acoustics as well as the biophilia of the environment, thus improving people’s well-being. The first Aura wall integrated with the systems is installed in CoFactory. <\/p>\n\n

Deesup<\/strong> bases its model on the principle of resale applied to high-end furniture; it has created an e-commerce platform with the intention of making design more democratic and extending the product life cycle for a more sustainable consumption model.<\/p>\n\n

Kindof,<\/strong> an example of circular economy; the virtuous practice enables the use of ribbed steel rod traditionally used for reinforced concrete, which is thus transformed into outdoor design furniture with a high empathic charge and narrative value: chair, table, bench, bookcase, screen, small table.<\/p>\n\n

Materially <\/strong>supports companies in developing and disseminating innovation and sustainability from materials, having access to an extensive library of both proprietary and licensed materials.<\/p>\n\n

Prismed,<\/strong> a developer of high-tech solutions for the world of healthcare, has created a system that uses new technologies (such as robotics, augmented reality and big data) to monitor infections in hospital and home environments.<\/p>\n\n

Puntozero <\/strong>helps companies make the most of additive manufacturing opportunities; concepts and designs are approached by the team in a non-traditional way, thinking natively about different additive technologies and exploiting the concepts of generative design, topological optimisation and implicit modelling.<\/p>\n\n

R3plica<\/strong> has created a digital platform that collects smart 3D assets related to the Made in Italy design icons, and not only, efficiently managing finishes and materials together with the respective technical information of the products in the virtual environment; the faithful replicas, already catalogued and certified by the brands, give designers the freedom to realise any architectural project in real time, exploiting in particular the rendering potential of the Unreal Engine 3D computer graphics engine.<\/p>\n\n

Traxit<\/strong> specialises in the airborne tracking of goods (luggage and\/or cargo) using a patented and tested IOT device for all operational and climatic conditions (with temperatures from -50\u00b0 to +80\u00b0), compliant with air transport safety regulations, with smart insurance contracts. <\/p>\n\n

Contesti e visioni per l\u2019impresa\u2019 , l\u2019edizione italiana di \u2018La startup digitale, guida pratica step by step\u2019 e ha scritto la prefazione all\u2019edizione italiana de \u2018La quarta era\u2019 di Byron Reese, ed \u00e8 co-autore di \u2018Cosa e Dove: strategie digitali di ricerca del lavoro\u2019, tutti editi da FrancoAngeli.
