Lightsonic, a cutting-edge software company using fibre-optic sensing technology, has raised EUR 3.3m in a seed investment round <\/strong>to develop smart monitoring solutions that improve the sustainability, resilience and security of water services and critical infrastructure. The investment was led by Maki.vc, with participation from Raise Ventures and Sondo.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Lightsonic’s innovative technology harnesses existing fibre optic networks to provide real-time, high-resolution monitoring of infrastructure such as water and gas transmission lines, telecommunication networks, energy networks and submarine resources<\/strong>. By transforming fibre optic cables into advanced detection systems, Lightsonic offers scalable, cost-effective and highly accurate solutions to detect leaks and threats, prevent failures and improve operational efficiency. <\/p>\n\n

“At Maki.vc we support deeptech companies redefining industries, and Lightsonic’s approach to fibre-optic sensing is a breakthrough for monitoring critical infrastructure. Raise Ventures emphasises the impact of Lightsonic’s solutions on sustainability and security: ‘The pressure on infrastructure is higher than ever and the need for Lightsonic’s scalable technology has never been clearer. Their proactive monitoring of large networks, such as water, gas and cable networks, can significantly reduce environmental impact and operational risks.
