Serenis, a start-up already operating as a digital medical centre for mental and physical wellbeing, buoyed by its recent \u20ac12 million funding round, announces the launch of Serenis Medicina, a new digital healthcare service providing rapid access to general medical and paediatric consultations. The service, led by Manuel Szathvary, a general practitioner specialising in telemedicine, who was recently appointed medical director of Serenis, is already available to company employees, who can immediately integrate the service into their welfare platforms. It will be available to all other users from the second half of 2026.<\/p>\n\n
The National Health Service is currently facing unprecedented pressure, with over 5,500 family doctors missing and around 18 million visits to A&E departments each year, 68% of which are classified as non-urgent, according to a statement released by the company. This structural crisis is directly reflected in the relationship with general practitioners and paediatricians: in fact, according to 58.7% of citizens, the main critical issue in local healthcare depends precisely on long waiting times and operational obstacles, which make it difficult both to obtain appointments and to contact doctors by telephone. <\/p>\n\n
In this scenario, Serenis Medicina acts as the first point of contact for any medical need and as a service capable of absorbing demand related to non-urgent cases, significantly reducing inefficiencies, waiting times for clinical assessments and the resulting stress for healthcare staff and patients.<\/p>\n\n
The emergency medical service is currently overloaded, partly due to the large number of requests that could easily be resolved via video consultation. Our doctors are trained to deal with all immediate health needs, i.e. those for which the family doctor or emergency doctor is sometimes not easily accessible or unable to visit in a timely manner. However, when the situation requires in-person intervention, the patient is immediately referred by the doctor to the service most appropriate to their clinical needs,” Szathvary said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n
Serenis Medicina allows patients to have a doctor available 24\/7, 365 days a year. Thanks to rapid response times, averaging 10-15 minutes, patients can interact with their doctor via chat, book video consultations to analyse their clinical situation, request timely check-ups and even manage the health of their family members. In addition, each patient on the platform has a digital health record where reports, documents and prescriptions are stored, allowing the doctor to view the patient’s medical history and ensure centralised health management that is fully integrated with Serenis’ other specialist services. Thanks to this tool, doctors can also recommend, if appropriate for the care of their patients, pathways within the Serenis platform with psychotherapists, nutritionists and psychiatrists. <\/p>\n\n
