{"id":177118,"date":"2026-06-16T15:56:51","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T13:56:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.startupbusiness.it\/scuter-teams-up-with-esselunga-for-innovative-urban-mobility\/177118\/"},"modified":"2026-06-16T18:36:33","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T16:36:33","slug":"scuter-teams-up-with-esselunga-for-innovative-urban-mobility","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.startupbusiness.it\/en\/scuter-teams-up-with-esselunga-for-innovative-urban-mobility\/177118\/","title":{"rendered":"Scuter teams up with Esselunga for innovative urban mobility"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scuter has announced the launch of a new partnership with Esselunga, which combines urban mobility with the loyalty scheme, offering tangible benefits in terms of convenience and environmental impact to customers and cities. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This nimble three-wheeled vehicle, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.startupbusiness.it\/en\/7-november-is-the-launch-date-for-the-scuter-service-in-milan\/148192\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">can be ridden without a helmet and has been available in the Milan<\/a> metropolitan area for a few months now, has been designed with a spacious boot and a footboard that can also accommodate shopping bags. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Available in the online selection of the F\u00ecdaty Esselunga catalogue, as well as on the app, the partnership allows members of the retailer\u2019s loyalty programme to convert their accumulated \u2018fragola\u2019 points into transport credit to be used on the Scuter fleet.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Esselunga and Scuter, which has developed the first electric vehicle specifically designed and type-approved for urban car-sharing, are thus committed to encouraging more sustainable behaviour in cities, reducing traffic and pollutant emissions, whilst also saving time and money.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In its first five months of operation in Milan, Scuter has already recorded over 12,000 downloads of its app, a sign of growing demand for mobility solutions that offer an alternative to private cars and are more efficient than traditional car-sharing schemes.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cScuter was created to make the use of shared fleets the best everyday option, rather than just an occasional choice,\u201d says Gianmarco Carnovale, CEO of Scuter, in a statement \u201cWe have designed and built an integrated system in Italy \u2013 comprising the vehicle, platform and service \u2013 that is so efficient it offers a genuine and indispensable alternative to private cars in urban settings, with unrivalled benefits in terms of cost, time, safety and quality of life. Through this partnership, we are demonstrating how mobility and retail can converge to generate real value for citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently operating in Milan with an expanding fleet, the Scuter service will grow through franchising agreements with new cities, with the aim of helping to reduce traffic and emissions in city centres. The agreement with Esselunga therefore begins in Milan, but will support the service\u2019s expansion into other cities.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scuter\u2019s vehicle is the first in the world to be designed for this purpose; it is made in Italy, produced through the excellence of an Italian supply chain comprising numerous companies specialising in the automotive sector, thereby driving re-industrialisation in the country. The company has received numerous awards during its research and development phases, has been supported by European and Italian public funding, has attracted investment from numerous institutional and Contesti e visioni per l\u2019impresa\u2019 , l\u2019edizione italiana di \u2018La startup digitale, guida pratica step by step\u2019 e ha scritto la prefazione all\u2019edizione italiana de \u2018La quarta era\u2019 di Byron Reese, ed \u00e8 co-autore di \u2018Cosa e Dove: strategie digitali di ricerca del lavoro\u2019, tutti editi da FrancoAngeli.
