Guidoio, €3.5 million to digitise driving licence courses

Guidoio, a start-up that runs a digital driving school, has announced that it has closed a seed round worth €3.5 million. The transaction, which sees 360 Capital (through the 360 Digitaly fund, supported by CDP Venture Capital with the Digital Transition Fund – PNRR) and Azimut Libera Impresa (through the Azimut Eltif – Venture Capital ALIcrowd III and IV funds), marks the beginning of a new phase of growth for the startup, which is innovating the way Generation Z members obtain their B driving licence.

Founded in 2023 by Lorenzo Mannari, an entrepreneur with experience in the digitisation of banking systems, and supported by Giuseppe Cavallaro, a serial investor with a managerial career in the edtech sector and a background at McKinsey. Guidoio was created with the aim of innovating the process of obtaining a B driving licence. The start-up offers a training model designed for digital natives, digitising every stage of the process: from exam registration to the complete management of bureaucracy.

“Today, a driving licence represents independence, work and freedom. Our ambition is to transform this process into a simple, clear and accessible experience, in line with the expectations of a generation that no longer accepts bureaucracy and opacity. It is this mix of experience, capital and shared vision that will enable us to accelerate towards our goal of bringing Guidoio to the whole of Italy and building the new standard for digital mobility: more accessible, smarter and closer to people,” says Lorenzo Mannari, co-founder and CEO of Guidoio (pictured with the team).

“We are delighted to continue supporting Guidoio, Italy’s first digital driving school. Since our investment in early 2024, the company has accelerated its growth, expanding across the country and reaching several Italian cities. Guidoio is making the process of obtaining a driving licence truly digital, accessible and smart for the younger generation and their families,” says Lucrezia Lucotti, partner at 360 Capital.

“We are investing in Guidoio to support digitalisation and the paradigm shift in the driving school sector. Guidoio is implementing a real paradigm shift in the entire driver training sector, and we strongly support the team’s vision, which focuses on the needs for flexibility and transparency of the younger generations, offering an experience that speaks their language,” says Guido Bocchio, head of venture capital at Azimut Libera Impresa.

The funds raised will be used in three strategic areas: growth development, product enhancement and team expansion. After Milan and Varese, where the start-up now has thousands of students, Guidoio has also been operating in Monza, Turin and Bologna since September, marking a further phase of expansion.

Part of the investment will be allocated to product improvement, with the enhancement of the e-learning platform to help students pass theoretical and practical exams more effectively, the development of digital tools dedicated to instructors, and the continuous advancement of artificial intelligence solutions already integrated into the platform.

The goal is geographical expansion: Guidoio aims to bring its driving school model to over 30 cities by the end of 2026, having already helped thousands of students obtain their driving licences directly through the app. To support this growth, the start-up is looking for new talent: 15 new hires are planned for key roles, which will double the current team.

Since its launch, Guidoio has revolutionised the process of obtaining a driving licence, making it more accessible, transparent and flexible. With the app, you can manage every stage directly from your smartphone: from registration to paperwork, from booking your medical examination to practical lessons with certified instructors, right through to personalised theory study with artificial intelligence.

The real added value of the model lies in the AI Tutor, which creates tailor-made study paths adapted to each user’s level and pace, and the intelligent guide booking system, which allows driving lessons to be organised directly on the student’s doorstep, bringing the instructor closer to the student and making the experience easier and more convenient. In this way, each candidate has full control over their own path and can choose dates, methods and cities, always receiving immediate support for questions and clarifications.

In 2025, the start-up has already tripled its number of subscribers compared to the previous year. With the new round of investment, it intends to further accelerate its mission: to democratise and digitise access to driving licences, accompanying the younger generations towards safer and more inclusive mobility.
