Iride Acque, three million euros for industrial water treatment

Iride Acque, a company specialising in industrial water treatment, has announced that it has received a €3 million investment from Credem Euromobiliare Private Asset, which will act as a strategic and financial partner to accelerate the company’s growth through a series of acquisitions of complementary and synergistic businesses. The transaction, completed in conjunction with the acquisition of Bieffe Costruzioni – a company specialising in the construction and maintenance of facilities for multi-utility providers – marks a significant step forward in the development of a structured industrial group within the industrial water treatment sector. The Iride Group is now aiming to exceed €13 million in turnover by 2026.

The deal with Credem is not merely a capital injection: it is the driving force behind a consolidation strategy that is already underway. In 2023, Iride Acque acquired Biemme Engineering, a company specialising in the design and construction of integrated systems for the treatment and control of process water. With the addition of Bieffe Costruzioni, which specialises in the construction and refurbishment of water mains and treatment plants for multi-utility companies, the group now covers the entire supply chain: from bespoke design and installation to subsequent maintenance and remote management via dedicated software.

The business model aims to build an ecosystem of highly specialised companies capable of combining technological know-how, engineering expertise and operational capabilities to offer the market – encompassing both the manufacturing and multi-utility sectors – modular, high-value-added solutions that result in more responsible water use by industry. At the same time, further acquisitions are already being considered with a view to strengthening the company’s regional presence and embarking on a path towards internationalisation.

“Credem’s investment marks a pivotal moment for Iride Acque in the creation of a Group that offers innovative solutions to reduce the industrial sector’s water footprint. A leading financial partner, but more than that: an investor with whom we share values and an industrial vision,” says Monica Casadei, founder and CEO of Iride Acque (pictured with the team), in a statement.

Credem Euromobiliare Private Asset’s investment in Iride Acque is based on an assessment of the market that views industrial water treatment as a historically fragmented sector which has embarked on a process of structural consolidation, with highly specialised companies joining forces within groups capable of leveraging their synergies. Iride Acque offers patented technological solutions applicable to multiple industrial sectors, exactly what the market needs right now.

“Iride Acque is a young company offering innovative, patented solutions that can be applied across many industrial sectors to reduce the water footprint, in the name of practical and profitable sustainability for businesses,” says Daniele Molinaro, Chief Investment Officer at Credem Euromobiliare Private Asset.

This initiative comes against a backdrop of growing pressure on water resources and environmental compliance. Increasing global water stress, tighter European regulations on industrial discharges and rising energy costs are driving manufacturing companies and multi-utility firms to invest in more efficient and sustainable treatment solutions. In this context, the ability to offer an integrated service, from design to maintenance, becomes a competitive advantage that is difficult for operators specialising in a single segment of the supply chain to replicate.
